Søm kirke (Søm church) is an arbeidskirke/'working


church' built in 2004.

The architects for the church are Arild Lauvland and Arne Åmland. Built of red bricks, 250,000 were used in its construction.

Bishop Olav Skjevesland laid the foundation stone of the church on the 1st January 2000; the church was to be Kristiansand's millenium building. The dedication was on the 1st Sunday in Advent, 28th November 2004.

It has the capacity to seat 400 in the main church.
